Amber Argyle: Win an ARC of Witch Song

The Heat by: Heather Killough-Walden

4/5
This book was great, kinda had the vibe of Lara Adrian's Midnight Breed series but with big bad werewolves, and no breed marks until the mates mark them Love the idea of the "tattooed" mate mark that matches their were's eyes!!! Great story line, great characters. Love how it goes back and forth from past to present so you can get history a little bit at a time. This did'nt feel like her debut adult series at all. She writes like a veteran. A must read for all!!!!

Waking Storms Book 2 In Lost Voices Trilogy

Waking Storms

"We have lingered in the chambers of the sea, by sea-girls wreathed with seaweed red and brown, till human voices wake us, and we drown."

After parting ways with her troubled mermaid tribe, Luce just wants to live peacefully on her own. But her tranquility doesn't last long: she receives news that the tribe is on the verge of collapse and desperately needs her leadership. Anais, their cruel queen, wants Luce dead. Dorian, the boy Luce broke mermaid law to save, is determined to make her pay for her part in the murder of his family. And while the mermaids cling to the idea that humans never suspect their existence, there are suddenly ominous signs to the contrary.

But when Luce and Dorian meet, they start to wonder if love can overpower the hatred they know they should feel for each other. Luce's new friendship with an ancient renegade mermaid gives her hope that her kind might someday change their murderous ways. But how can Luce fulfill her rightful role as queen of the mermaids without sacrificing her forbidden romance with Dorian?

Full of miraculous reunions and heart-pounding rescues, this haunting second installment in the Lost Voices Trilogy finds Luce eager to attempt reconciliation with humans—as long as war doesn't break out first.

REVIEW   5/5
I literally had this book read in 2 days because it was that good! Fast paced, lots of excitement, tons of twist and turns. Its got some pretty heavy issues the main character is dealing with. The ending........OMG leaves you begging for the next book!

REVIEW  5/5
An eerie dark twisted AWESOME story!!!!!!!! Defiantly a story to NOT read quick or you will miss something. It give you little whispers of information threw-out the book that will be elaborated on towards the end, but not all. I'm still thinking about this book, wondering which direction Retra/Naif will go. I don't think I have ever read a story quite like this before, similar yes but not this intense. Must read for all you will not regret it. Here's hoping Angel Arias is around the corner and I can buy this one is in the US. If not "Oh, Matty" mamma needs another book :)

I give this book a 3.5.
Its a good read, I don't think I've read anything quit like it before. For me it is somewhere in between fantasy mermaid lore and straight up crazy. It took a little while for me to get into it but once I did it was great. I really liked the crazy aspect of it a lot! Towards the end, it felt a little rushed and the ending was abrupt. I'm really glad that there will be sequel so I can read how Anais is going down.

The characters were wonderful, totally felt like I knew them personally. The author did a great job letting readers know exactly who they were. I could totally picture the setting as well. When the sequel is out I will definitely be reading it
