Why shop Indie?

Why shop Indie?

When you shop at an independently owned business, your entire community benefits:

The Economy
Spend $100 at a local and $68 of that stays in your community. Spend the same $100 at a national chain, and your community only sees $43.
Local businesses create higher-paying jobs for our neighbors.
More of your taxes are reinvested in your community--where they belong.
The Environment
Buying local means less packaging, less transportation, and a smaller carbon footprint.
Shopping in a local business district means less infrastructure, less maintenance, and more money to beautify your community.
The Community
Local retailers are your friends and neighbors—support them and they’ll support you.
Local businesses donate to charities at more than twice the rate of national chains.
More independents means more choice, more diversity, and a truly unique community.
Now is the time to stand up and join your fellow individuals in the IndieBound mission supporting local businesses and celebrating independents.

IndieBound supports Independent Business Alliances around the country. To find an alliance near you, visit AMIBA or BALLE.

Blood Awakening Review

4/5

Blood AwakeningBlood Awakening by Wenona Hulsey

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Goodreads-

Nicole, a small town Alabama girl, and her best friend Kat take a weekend trip to Panama City, Florida. Kat looking to have a good time and Nicole hoping to escape the pain of losing her mother for a little while. Little did Nicole know, the escape would awaken a ancient power that is hidden in her blood. A power that evil wants for its own and will do whatever it takes to have it.

Great short story! Flowed beautifully with no rushed feeling, which is unusual for short stories. Its a great piece of candy to get you started with before reaching into the whole candy bowl known as Burden of Blood. Great job Wenona!!!!

Moongazer Review

5/5

Are you ready to gaze at the moon?

Skye Brown, video game designer, New Yorker.........or not? She's been having sleep terror where she's trapped in an underground world running for her life. Trapped between two worlds, one an underground wasteland where everyone insists she is their rebel queen Mariah. One where her life make sense, New York where she is happy, has a boyfriend, job and a life as Skye. Can she believe her memories or are they the ultimate betrayal?

Dystopian storytelling at it best!!!! Mancusi does and excellent job with her characters, plot, setting, and relationships. I could feel each and every character, see where they lived, and in some parts almost smell it. Great job with all aspects of this novel!!!
