Learning in the Dark by Margaret Sarah Bechtel

5/5

Another super awesome story by Margaret Sarah Bechtel!!!!!!! Would you have the strength to forgive? I kept asking myself this question as I read this book. So moving, so wonderful and such a great message. Loved each and every character, some took till the end of the book for me to love. Great plot, great conflicts, loved how she set it up all. Everything came together at just the right moments. Really really great read, a must for all!!!!!!!

5/5

Georgie Kincaid, Loved this whole series. I'm sad to see it end but that just leaves you to imagine the rest your way. Richelle did a great job with this story line, so different than the other series she writes. Love the whole friend group Georgie has, love the setting, and backgrounds. Great ending with how it all began.

First Grave on the Right by Darynda Jones

4/5 "I went down like a drunken cowgirl trying to line dance to Metallica."

Goodreads
A smashing, award-winning debut novel that introduces Charley Davidson -- part-time private investigator and full-time Grim Reaper.

Charley sees dead people. That's right, she sees dead people. And it's her job to convince them to 'go into the light'. But when these very dead people have died under less than ideal circumstances (i.e. murder), sometimes they want Charley to bring the bad guys to justice. Complicating matters are the intensely hot dreams she's been having about an Entity who has been following her all her life...and it turns out he might not be dead after all. In fact, he might be something else entirely.

Funny, exciting, and wonderful!!!! I laughed out-loud threw-out this book. Great plot, Fabulous characters (Reyes <3) Mr. Wong!!! Two of my favs. Love this book to death! Loved following all the different plots in this story. I think she did an awesome job with this book!!!!!!! Totally wish I was Reyes Dutch :)

The Haunted by Jessica Verday

The Hollow by Jessica Verday

The Hidden by Jessica Verday

5/5

The Hollow was the first book I read after the whole Twilight crazy. I had no idea there were others books out there that could pull me like Twilight did. I was SO wrong.........

Jessica Verday is one of the most brillant Authors out there. The whole telling, retelling of Sleepy Hollow is AMAZING!!!! I was so scared when the last book came out because I wasnt ready for this story to end. The Hollow, The Haunted, The Hidden This trilogy take you threw Abbey's life of dealing with the death of her best friend. You watch her struggle to make sense of her life without Kristen.
In The Hidden, Abbey's just been attacked by Vincent. She's not sure if she is even alive. Along with everything else she is dealing with she now is walking around with her impending death hanging over her always. She has Caspian's Death Day creeping slowly up. Soon she will be able to touch him....
I couldnt even possible try to break down this story for a summary it would be way to long. So, you just gonna have to trust me and read this yourself!!! Hands down, the way Jessica ends this book is like none I've ever seen. IT JUST THE BEST ENDING EVER!!! You are not left hanging or wanting more its just perfection. LOVE you Jess

Dear Bully

Finally got my copy of Dear Bully, no ratings with this one. You cant judge other's experiences or stories. There is a lot of emotion in this read. I wish everyone who has been bullied or who is a bully to read this book.

This book is POWERFUL!!!!! Everyone has dealt with a bully sometime in there life. I encourage you all to write your own Dear Bully letter........
Here's mine

Dear Bully,

I use to love swimming, I remember spending all my summer at the pool with my best friend. I was only trying to "be cool", like you. Join in on your conversation, maybe make a new friend. You kept me underwater for what seemed like hours. By the time you let go of me, my lungs were burning from the lack of air, the water, and just fear. I never told anyone, not even to this day. You took a joy away from me, but you did give me something in return. You put such a deep fear of drowning in me that when I had kids, swimming was one of the first things to learn. My husband taught each one to swim. Not just for fun, but for survival. So thank you, thank you that my kids know what to do if they are ever in a situation where they are held underwater. They know how to save someone else's life. They know the importance of swimming safety. Maybe one day I'll even try to go back into the water, who knows.

Your not to funny joke,

Me

Why shop Indie?

Why shop Indie?

When you shop at an independently owned business, your entire community benefits:

The Economy
Spend $100 at a local and $68 of that stays in your community. Spend the same $100 at a national chain, and your community only sees $43.
Local businesses create higher-paying jobs for our neighbors.
More of your taxes are reinvested in your community--where they belong.
The Environment
Buying local means less packaging, less transportation, and a smaller carbon footprint.
Shopping in a local business district means less infrastructure, less maintenance, and more money to beautify your community.
The Community
Local retailers are your friends and neighbors—support them and they’ll support you.
Local businesses donate to charities at more than twice the rate of national chains.
More independents means more choice, more diversity, and a truly unique community.
Now is the time to stand up and join your fellow individuals in the IndieBound mission supporting local businesses and celebrating independents.

Blood Awakening Review

4/5

Blood AwakeningBlood Awakening by Wenona Hulsey

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Goodreads-

Nicole, a small town Alabama girl, and her best friend Kat take a weekend trip to Panama City, Florida. Kat looking to have a good time and Nicole hoping to escape the pain of losing her mother for a little while. Little did Nicole know, the escape would awaken a ancient power that is hidden in her blood. A power that evil wants for its own and will do whatever it takes to have it.

Great short story! Flowed beautifully with no rushed feeling, which is unusual for short stories. Its a great piece of candy to get you started with before reaching into the whole candy bowl known as Burden of Blood. Great job Wenona!!!!

Moongazer Review

5/5

Are you ready to gaze at the moon?

Skye Brown, video game designer, New Yorker.........or not? She's been having sleep terror where she's trapped in an underground world running for her life. Trapped between two worlds, one an underground wasteland where everyone insists she is their rebel queen Mariah. One where her life make sense, New York where she is happy, has a boyfriend, job and a life as Skye. Can she believe her memories or are they the ultimate betrayal?

Dystopian storytelling at it best!!!! Mancusi does and excellent job with her characters, plot, setting, and relationships. I could feel each and every character, see where they lived, and in some parts almost smell it. Great job with all aspects of this novel!!!

Amber Argyle: Win an ARC of Witch Song

The Heat by: Heather Killough-Walden

4/5
This book was great, kinda had the vibe of Lara Adrian's Midnight Breed series but with big bad werewolves, and no breed marks until the mates mark them Love the idea of the "tattooed" mate mark that matches their were's eyes!!! Great story line, great characters. Love how it goes back and forth from past to present so you can get history a little bit at a time. This did'nt feel like her debut adult series at all. She writes like a veteran. A must read for all!!!!

Waking Storms Book 2 In Lost Voices Trilogy

Waking Storms

"We have lingered in the chambers of the sea, by sea-girls wreathed with seaweed red and brown, till human voices wake us, and we drown."

After parting ways with her troubled mermaid tribe, Luce just wants to live peacefully on her own. But her tranquility doesn't last long: she receives news that the tribe is on the verge of collapse and desperately needs her leadership. Anais, their cruel queen, wants Luce dead. Dorian, the boy Luce broke mermaid law to save, is determined to make her pay for her part in the murder of his family. And while the mermaids cling to the idea that humans never suspect their existence, there are suddenly ominous signs to the contrary.

But when Luce and Dorian meet, they start to wonder if love can overpower the hatred they know they should feel for each other. Luce's new friendship with an ancient renegade mermaid gives her hope that her kind might someday change their murderous ways. But how can Luce fulfill her rightful role as queen of the mermaids without sacrificing her forbidden romance with Dorian?

Full of miraculous reunions and heart-pounding rescues, this haunting second installment in the Lost Voices Trilogy finds Luce eager to attempt reconciliation with humans—as long as war doesn't break out first.

REVIEW   5/5
I literally had this book read in 2 days because it was that good! Fast paced, lots of excitement, tons of twist and turns. Its got some pretty heavy issues the main character is dealing with. The ending........OMG leaves you begging for the next book!

Burn Bright by Marianne de Pierres

REVIEW  5/5
An eerie dark twisted AWESOME story!!!!!!!! Defiantly a story to NOT read quick or you will miss something. It give you little whispers of information threw-out the book that will be elaborated on towards the end, but not all. I'm still thinking about this book, wondering which direction Retra/Naif will go. I don't think I have ever read a story quite like this before, similar yes but not this intense. Must read for all you will not regret it. Here's hoping Angel Arias is around the corner and I can buy this one is in the US. If not "Oh, Matty" mamma needs another book :)

Sarah Porter

I give this book a 3.5.
Its a good read, I don't think I've read anything quit like it before. For me it is somewhere in between fantasy mermaid lore and straight up crazy. It took a little while for me to get into it but once I did it was great. I really liked the crazy aspect of it a lot! Towards the end, it felt a little rushed and the ending was abrupt. I'm really glad that there will be sequel so I can read how Anais is going down.

The characters were wonderful, totally felt like I knew them personally. The author did a great job letting readers know exactly who they were. I could totally picture the setting as well. When the sequel is out I will definitely be reading it
